Honoré de Balzac

You can read everything Balzac has written in his multi volume (12 volumes is some prints) La Comédie Humaine , the ambitious structure which Balzac built to include all his works and thousands of profiles from all walks of life. Balzac envisioned The Human Comedy to comprehend the whole of society of his time. The spectrum of this idea was so vast that Balzac worked days and nights to realize all that he had planned. This excessive work caused his demise. He literally worked himself to death.
